Introduction to photo editing

I am running two photo editing courses: “Introduction to RAW processing with Lightroom” and “Advanced Retouching with Photoshop”.

Those 2 hour classes are very hands on, you will be using your own computer/laptop and we go through the editing together step by step.

In the Lightroom class you will learn how to organise your images and fine tune them by adjust the exposure and white balance, as well as using and creating Lightroom Presets. I will talk you through my own workflow, from downloading the images from the camera to producing a set of images with a consistent look and enhanced colours and composition.

In the Photoshop class, we will look at the concept of Layers & Masks and learn how to do head swaps, cloning and beauty retouching.

Unless you’re already familiar with RAW processing, I strongly recommend taking the Lightroom class BEFORE the Photoshop class.

Please install the relevant software onto your computer before the class. You can get a 7 day free trial to Adobe CC just before the class, or purchase the software outright (Lightroom only is quite competitively priced but Photoshop is quite pricey so if you’re after more advanced editing I would recommend signing up to the Adobe subscription service which includes both Lightroom and Photoshop.) If you would rather not subscribe to Adobe CC but would like to learn how to use Photoshop, you could instead purchase Photoshop Elements which is a cut down (but more user friendly) version of Photoshop and would be suitable for the course.
